How much does iPhone screen repair cost in the UK?
Quotes for the same cracked screen can range from £40 to £400. Here's why they differ, what you should actually pay, and the questions that separate a good repair from a cheap one.
The short answer
At an independent repair shop like ours, iPhone screen replacement starts from around £49 for older models and rises with the model — the newest Pro iPhones cost the most to fix simply because their OLED panels are the most expensive part in the phone. Apple's own out-of-warranty screen service is typically £150–£400+ depending on the model, unless you have AppleCare+.
Every model is different, so we publish a fixed price per device rather than a vague range — the live prices further down this page come straight from our repair catalogue, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.
What actually determines the price
Five things move the number, and a shop that can't explain them is guessing:
- Panel type — newer iPhones use OLED panels that cost several times more than the LCD in older models.
- Part grade — genuine, premium OEM-grade or budget aftermarket. The cheapest panels look dimmer, drain the battery faster and mis-register touches.
- What's actually broken — glass only, or the display underneath too? Damage to the frame, Face ID hardware or back glass adds work.
- Pairing and calibration — features like True Tone and auto-brightness need to be handled properly after a panel swap, or you lose them.
- Parts availability — very new and very old models both cost more, for opposite reasons.
Apple, an independent shop, or DIY?
Apple gives you a genuine panel and keeps everything official, at the highest price and usually the longest wait — a booking, and often days without your phone unless you're near an Apple Store. Worth it if you have AppleCare+ (a screen claim is a small excess) — much less clear-cut without it.
A good independent shop does the same job the same day for materially less. The catch is that "good" varies wildly: ask what grade of panel is being fitted, what the warranty is, and whether the price is fixed before work starts. If a shop can't answer all three, walk.
DIY kits cost £20–£100 and look tempting on YouTube. The reality: glued assemblies that need heat and patience to open, fragile ribbon cables, and pairing steps that need tools you don't have. One slipped cable turns a £49 repair into a dead phone — we know because we see the results every week.
What a good screen repair includes
Whatever shop you use, the job should include: a fixed quote agreed before any work, a quality panel (genuine or premium OEM-grade), your data left untouched, water-resistance seals refitted, True Tone and calibration handled, and a real warranty. At TikTech screen replacements carry a lifetime warranty, and most are done in under an hour while you wait.
Is it worth repairing at all?
Usually yes — a screen is a single, well-understood fault on an otherwise working phone. The exception is an older device where the repair quote approaches what the phone is worth. In that case trading it in can make more sense, and sometimes the smartest move is both: fix the screen, then trade it in, because a working phone is worth far more than a broken one.

Quick answers
How long does an iPhone screen repair take?
At our shops, most iPhone screens are replaced in under an hour while you wait. Booking ahead just guarantees the panel for your model is in stock.
Will a screen replacement wipe my data?
No — a screen swap doesn't touch your data. We still recommend having a backup, which is good practice before any repair, anywhere.
Will my iPhone still be water-resistant afterwards?
We refit the adhesive seals, but no repair — including Apple's own — can guarantee the original factory IP rating once a phone has been opened. Treat any repaired phone as splash-careful.
Do cheap aftermarket screens really make a difference?
Yes. Budget panels are visibly dimmer, show colours worse, drain the battery faster and can mis-register touches. It's the single biggest reason two quotes for the same repair differ.
